Hank Williams Jr. compares ABC/ESPN to Spanish-American War

Guess who secretly loves Disney? Hank Williams Jr.

Despite a messy split from ESPN after Hank Williams Jr.�s controversial comments about President Obama where he compared him to Hitler, Williams made an appearance on ABC�s the View Tuesday. ESPN and ABC are both owned by the Walt Disney Company.

�The View� host Barbara Walters made it a point to remind Hank Williams Jr. that her show was owned by Disney after he continued to elaborate on his controversial remarks. Shortly after, Williams said �Disney, ABC and ESPN are kind of like the Spanish-American War, they�re history. You understand that? I�m out of there.�

Williams called Disney�s Mickey a �mean mouse� and turned his back to the audience to point to his New York Yankees Mickey Mantle jersey.

�This is my Mickey right here,� he said.

Surely, Yankees fans everywhere are rejoicing at their newest celebrity fan.

Following that, co-host Joy Behar asked Williams Jr. again if he understood why using Hitler�s name was a bad idea and the audience and viewers got one lucid moment out of an otherwise uncomfortable, jumbled segment.

�Oh yeah. I told you, I�m not smart enough,� said Williams Jr., who reminded the audience that he and his song �Are You Ready for Some Football will be free agents May 1, 2012.

It was a bold move by both camps to entertain Williams on an ABC show. Adding to the uncomfortable segment was the fact that co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck�s husband, Tim Hasselbeck, is an NFL analyst for ESPN � to which she also reminded Hank Williams Jr. when he threw dogged Mickey Mouse.
